You type it in. That is the whole trick, and it is why Inspendia never needs your bank password. Expenses, budgets and your real savings rate, with no ads and nothing sold.
Free to start, no credit card required. Optional Pro for unlimited budgets, subscriptions, investments and full history. No ads and no data sales, so Inspendia is funded by the people who use it, which is exactly why it can stay that way.
What Inspendia knows
What it cannot see
What you get
Income, spending, budgets, subscriptions, investments and shared households, in one private place. The right column is the free limit, and it is the same limit the server enforces.
What protects it
Inspendia has no bank integration, no ad networks, no analytics and no data brokers, so there is nothing to leak and nobody to sell to. Here is exactly what protects the data you do put in, with no vague promises.
In order
Verify your email and switch on two-factor authentication. Under a minute, before you enter a single number.
Log what you earn and spend, and set your recurring bills once. Inspendia posts the recurring ones for you, on schedule.
Watch your real savings rate, catch the categories creeping up, and get a heads-up before a budget blows.
Yes. The free tier covers what most people need: expenses, income, budgets, subscriptions, investments, analytics, and full data export, with no credit card required. Pro (US$19.99 a year) lifts the limits: unlimited budgets, subscriptions, investment accounts and categories, plus your full history beyond the last 12 months.
From Pro, and nothing else. Advertising and selling your transaction history are the two things Inspendia exists to avoid, so neither is available to us, which leaves the people who find Inspendia genuinely valuable paying a small amount to keep it running and improving for everyone. Free is not a trial or a funnel; it is the product. Pro is what lets it stay that way, and it means the only people Inspendia has to answer to are the people using it.
No. Inspendia never asks for your online banking credentials and has no bank integration. You enter transactions yourself, or let recurring subscriptions post them automatically. Nothing can reach your bank because nothing is connected to it.
Most free budget apps monetise your transaction history through advertising, affiliate offers, or by selling anonymised spending data. Inspendia has no analytics vendors, no ad networks and no data brokers. The only outside services involved at all are the one that delivers our email and the one that runs our servers, both named in the privacy policy.
Everything travels over an encrypted connection. Your password is stored only as a hash that cannot be reversed, your two-factor secret is encrypted, and backups are encrypted too. Two-factor authentication guards your account, sessions are short-lived, and a stolen one is spotted and shut down. One thing we will not claim: the database itself is not encrypted on disk, so we say so here rather than implying otherwise. Security is designed in from the start and tested continuously, not bolted on afterwards.
Any time, and yes. Export everything you have entered as JSON or CSV whenever you like, on any plan. If you want out entirely, deleting your account signs you out everywhere and puts your data beyond reach immediately, then permanently erases it seven days later. It is not deactivated-and-kept: after those seven days it is gone, and not even we can bring it back. The seven days exist for one reason: so that a misclick, or someone who has got into your account, cannot destroy years of your financial history in a single irreversible moment. We email you a link to cancel, and if you use it your account comes back exactly as it was. Two honest caveats: entries you added to a shared household stay with that household, no longer linked to you, because the other members’ balances are calculated from them; and encrypted backups roll off on their own 30-day cycle.
You can add as many payment methods as you like and see spending broken down per card. Amounts are stored in exact integer minor units, so totals never drift the way floating-point maths does.
We built Inspendia because every expense tracker we tried wanted a bank password, buried an advertising business in the privacy policy, or both. We wanted one that treated your financial history as yours: no bank credentials, no third-party trackers, nothing sold to anyone. So we built it the way we build systems professionally, with the threat model first and security as the requirement rather than the feature.
Which leaves the honest question: if nobody is paying with their data, who is paying? Advertising and selling what you enter are the two business models we built Inspendia to get away from, and taking either one would quietly turn it into the thing we set out to replace. So it is funded the only other way there is: the people who get the most out of Inspendia pay for Pro, and that is what keeps it running and improving for everyone else. Free is not a trial or a trap; it is the product, and it stays that way.
That is the whole point of the paid tier. It means the only people Inspendia has to answer to are the people using it.
